Privacy Policy
Learn how JobsPortalWatch handles personal information, browser storage, service providers and payments, and how to exercise your privacy rights.
JobsPortalWatch is a directory of job boards with editorial resources, paid listings and sponsorship opportunities. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you browse the website, contact us or order a service.
You can contact us and submit service requests through our forms or by email. Forms send an email to our team; they do not save a request in an application database. If we accept a service request, we arrange payment separately by email.
Who is responsible for your information?
Rolework is the controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Rolework is a French single-shareholder simplified joint-stock company (SASU), registered under SIREN 993 818 558.
- Registered office: 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France.
- Privacy contact: jobsportalwatch@rolework.com.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Rolework. Additional company and hosting details appear in our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
When you browse. You can read the directory and articles without an account. Our hosting provider processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, which may include your IP address, requested page, request time, browser information and server errors. The application does not use audience analytics or advertising tracking tools.
Directory searches run in your browser. Search terms can appear in the page URL and browser history, and may be included in a request to the host when you open or reload that URL. Please keep personal or confidential information out of searches.
When you contact us. We collect your name, email address, chosen subject and message, together with a request reference and processing status. Please send only information relevant to your enquiry. We do not need CVs, job applications, identity documents or sensitive personal information to answer a general question.
When you submit a job board. We collect your private contact name and email, selected plan, job board name and website, description, categories, logo, and any pricing or audience information you provide. An optional public email address is separate from your private contact email.
When you order advertising. We collect your contact details, company name, website, link to your logo or advertising image, selected sponsor position and any campaign notes you choose to provide.
When you pay. Stripe collects the information needed for checkout, such as billing details and payment information. We use transaction references, payment and subscription status, amounts, dates, and billing records to administer your order. Our website’s forms do not collect or store card numbers or security codes.
Fields marked as required are needed to respond to your request or provide the service. If they are missing, we may be unable to proceed. Optional information is identified on the form.
What becomes public?
Directory content comes from job board owners and publicly available sources, including official websites. It may include professional contact information relevant to the listing. We review submissions before publication and keep private correspondence separate from public content.
An accepted listing or advertisement can display the business name, website, logo, description and other information intended for publication. Only provide an optional public email if you are entitled to make it public. Your private contact name and email are not automatically published or shared with sponsors.
Public pages may be indexed by search engines. Contact us if a page contains inaccurate personal information or information you believe should be removed. Changes on our website may take time to appear in third-party search results and caches.
Why we use personal information
Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we use the following legal bases:
- Handling an order: taking steps you request before a contract and performing that contract, including reviewing material, arranging publication and managing payment or cancellation. If you act for a company, our legitimate interest in managing that business relationship applies to your professional contact details.
- Answering enquiries and corrections: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us and keeping the directory accurate.
- Publishing relevant professional information: our legitimate interest in providing a useful job board directory, balanced against the privacy and reasonable expectations of the people concerned.
- Keeping the service secure: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse, investigating technical problems.
- Keeping required business records: compliance with French accounting, tax and other legal obligations, subject to the retention periods described below.
Reading this policy or accepting our terms does not give blanket consent to unrelated uses of your information. We do not currently send marketing newsletters, sell personal information or use it for behavioural advertising. If we introduce a use that requires consent, we will ask separately.
We do not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Publication and payment review are handled by the publisher.
Who receives your information?
Access is limited to people and providers who need the information for the purposes described here:
- The publisher and authorised service personnel, to respond to requests, review material and manage orders.
- Vercel, which hosts and protects the website and runs the form email functions. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
- Our email hosting provider, which holds correspondence addressed to jobsportalwatch@rolework.com, separately from the website hosting.
- Mailgun, using its EU API region, to send the publisher emails containing the request details and any uploaded logo as an attachment. Your email address is used as the reply address. Open and click tracking are disabled for these notifications. See Mailgun’s privacy policy.
- Stripe, when we arrange payment separately, to process payments and manage subscriptions. We pass a request reference to connect the payment to your order; we do not put your contact details or form contents in the checkout link. Stripe may also process information for its own fraud prevention and legal obligations. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers or competent authorities where necessary for a legal obligation, a dispute or the protection of legal rights. We do not give advertisers access to private enquiries or submission records.
Cookies and browser storage
The application does not set analytics or advertising cookies and does not store form details, uploaded logos or recovery keys in browser storage. Fields remain in the open form after an error, but closing or reloading the page can lose them. There is no saved-request recovery service.
Vercel processes technical request information to protect the site and limit repeated form submissions. These infrastructure controls are separate from the email contents, which we do not include in application logs.
Stripe and external websites have their own storage and cookie practices when you visit them.
How long we keep information
Our retention policy distinguishes ordinary request records from documents that must be kept for legal purposes:
- Enquiries and unsuccessful requests: while we handle the enquiry, then up to two years after closure. Abandoned requests are kept for up to two years after the last contact or activity relating to that request.
- Customer and subscription administration: throughout the service, then up to two years after the subscription ends or the request is closed, whichever is later. This covers operational records and supplied materials that are no longer needed for a published listing, excluding the legal records below.
- Contracts and commercial correspondence needed as evidence: five years after the business relationship ends, or longer where a specific obligation or ongoing dispute requires it. Access is restricted to those purposes.
- Invoices and accounting supporting documents: ten years from the end of the relevant financial year, as required by French law. The two-year period for ordinary requests does not replace this obligation.
- Public listing information: while relevant to the directory, subject to review, correction and applicable removal rights.
Where a record no longer serves its purpose, it may be deleted sooner unless it must be retained for a legal obligation or claim. We do not retain every field or uploaded file simply because an invoice or contract must be kept.
The website does not keep persistent copies of form submissions or uploaded logos. The retention periods above apply to our correspondence and business records, including email attachments. Mailgun, our mailbox provider and Vercel have their own technical log and backup retention schedules; those are separate from our correspondence retention policy.
Records needed for an ongoing dispute or legal obligation may be kept beyond the ordinary period, with access restricted to that purpose. Closing a request or cancelling a subscription does not immediately erase every associated record. The website does not manage the mailbox retention automatically; retention and erasure must be handled by the publisher.
Storage, security and international transfers
Form contents and logos are processed temporarily by Vercel functions and sent to our team through Mailgun’s EU API region. Logos are decoded and re-encoded before being attached. No form record or uploaded file is retained in a website database or file store. Email providers retain messages and attachments according to their services and our retention policy.
Vercel distributes public pages through its global delivery network. Form functions run in Frankfurt. Our mailbox at jobsportalwatch@rolework.com is separate from the website hosting. Selecting an EU function or email API region does not establish the location of every provider support, log, backup or subprocessor operation; we do not claim that all processing takes place in the European Economic Area.
Encrypted connections and restricted provider access help protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. If an email response is uncertain, contact us with the displayed reference before resending; the website cannot guarantee deduplication or recover an unsent form.
A transfer outside the European Economic Area must have a lawful basis under the GDPR. Depending on the recipient and destination, this may be an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. A provider’s country or selected region alone does not establish which mechanism applies. Contact jobsportalwatch@rolework.com for questions about processing locations and transfer safeguards.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies and the circumstances, you may request access to your information, correction, erasure, restriction of processing or a portable copy. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Send requests to jobsportalwatch@rolework.com, explaining what you need and, where relevant, your request reference or the page concerned. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. Do not send identity documents unless we specifically explain why they are necessary.
Where the GDPR applies, we normally respond within one month. A complex request may require up to two additional months; we will explain any extension within the first month. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or defend claims.
You may complain to the data protection authority in your country of residence or work, or where an alleged infringement occurred. In France, this is the CNIL. You do not have to contact us first.
External websites and policy changes
Links to job boards, sponsors and other websites take you to services operated by third parties. Their privacy policies govern their own collection and use of information.
We update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required.
