namesake.com Joins Social Job Sites

September 30, 2010 by Alice Allan

Following on from the release of services like BranchOut and jibe.com comes another jobs site with a social focus: namesake.com.

namesake.com is a startup that has just launched at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference. techcrunch.com describes namesake.com as “the match.com for professional opportunities,” explaining that it allows users to import their Facebook and Twitter contacts and to then post jobs, recommend people for opportunities, and connect people with each other.

“We are trying to blend the value that LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter provides in one platform,” said Dan Gould, nameksake.com co-founder and former MySpace executive, in an interview with techcrunch.com. Gould added that namesake.com will generate revenue by charging for candidate matching, premium subscriptions, and advertising.

At the moment, namesake.com is allowing interested job seekers to apply for early access to the service by providing their name and email address.
