DMGT Dissolves Northcliffe Digital

July 21, 2010 by Alice Allan

Daily Mail and General Trust is dissolving its digital division, Associated Northcliffe Digital, which includes jobsite.co.uk as part of its portfolio.

According to paidcontent.co.uk, AND’s brands will now be absorbed into DMGT’s consumer division, A&N Media. This will result in multiple job losses and the departure of AND CEO Richard Titus.

“In light of the current economic conditions, A&N Media, the consumer division of DMGT, has decided to streamline the organisational structure around its digital activities,” an A&N Media spokesperson is quoted as saying.

guardian.co.uk reports that Titus, who joined DMGT just over a year ago after working at the BBC, will continue work with the company on a consultancy basis until the end of November. guardian.co.uk adds Titus had planned to launch 150 apps for AND by next May.

AND employs more than 1,000 staff in the UK and central and eastern Europe. Around 30 of these employees work on group-wide functions.
