BranchOut Brings Jobs to Facebook

Late last month, we heard about the Work For Us tool that allows companies to post jobs and receive applications through Facebook. Now, another jobs-centered Facebook application has joined the market in the form of BranchOut.

BranchOut, which has just come out of beta release, invites users to tap into their Facebook network of friends to get an “inside connection” at companies. “80 percent of new jobs are the result of friend networking,” the BranchOut website claims.

Using BranchOut, job seekers can find out where their Facebook friends are currently employed as well as any previous work history. Information on friends of friends can also be accessed through the tool. Of course, the ability to access all this information depends on Facebook users having added employment data to their profiles in the first place.

techcrunch.com explains that BranchOut is also offering free job listings to users’ direct networks, and that paid listings reaching all Facebook users are also on the cards. The following how-to video outlines how BranchOut functions:
