New Network at clearancejobs.com
June 28, 2010 by Alice Allan
US defense jobs portal clearancejobs.com has launched a new social network for security-cleared job seekers.
The new network is focused on clearancejobs.com’s company profile pages. Now, clearancejobs.com users have the option to “follow” companies via these profiles – a feature similar to the “follow” option added to LinkedIn at the end of April.
Companies can also add news and RSS feeds to their profile page, and view social media updates from candidates who have chosen to share their information. A section highlighting current hiring needs is also included, along with the ability to add suitable candidates to a company’s network.
Once companies have established a network of possible candidates, they can chat with any candidate who is logged in to clearancejobs.com. A “network broadcast” option also allows companies to send messages to all their contacts.
fcw.com explains that any member of the network must be “a US citizen with an active or current security clearance issued by the federal government — no exceptions.” This video shows how the new social network functions.
clearancejobs.com is owned by Dice, which also runs allhealthcarejobs.com, efinancialcareers.com.au, jobsinthemoney.com and targetedjobfairs.com.
