twitjobsearch.com Links with Skype
May 19, 2010 by Alice Allan
Twitter-based job search engine twitjobsearch.com has just integrated Skype in an effort to make the hiring process near instantaneous.
Now, job seekers who use twitjobsearch.com to find positions also have the option of hitting the “Skype me – I am qualified for this job” button below each tweet. If the recruiter who posted the position is satisfied with their credentials, the job seeker can then be interviewed immediately via Skype.
This video from twitjobsearch.com’s test labs shows the process in action:
twitjobsearch.com uses semantic search technology to filter and index job opportunities added to Twitter, and gives job seekers the ability to contact the advertiser, save the job, or view more details about the position. The company says the addition of Skype to its service could create “the world’s fastest job search.”
“We believe that social media and technology like video interviews is disruptive to the industry but will absolutely improve the job candidate experience,” says twitjobsearch.com CEO Howard Lee.
“From the facilitating of video calls to establishing a ‘cloud phone number’, we’re actively seeking ways to integrate Skype technology and using it to extend the power of social media,” adds Bill Fischer, co-founder of twitjobsearch.com.
“For international recruitment efforts or even for the emergent mobile recruitment channel, we see the potential for lots of innovative uses of Skype being incorporated into new business processes.”
As of this morning, twitjobsearch.com claimed to have indexed 756,065 new jobs over the last 30 days.
