Zapoint Buys Jobster

April 7, 2010 by Alice Allan

Talent management and career-mapping service Zapoint has acquired Jobster Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

As techflash.com explains, Jobster changed its name to recruiting.com in early 2009. techcrunch.com says the acquisition will see recruiting.com sell Jobster and its technology to Zapoint, while recruiting.com will remain an independent company.

ere.net describes Jobster as “the company most famous for burning through almost $55 million in venture capital while it searched for a business model”. techcrunch.com also acknowledges that the company had its fair share of difficulties over the past few years, including several rounds of layoffs.

Jeff Seely, head of Jobster, remains optimistic about the company’s future:

“The user interaction between Zapoint’s SkillsMapper and Jobster’s skill analytics technology should be revolutionary and a real step forward for the human resource field. We think the combination will provide a better solution for customers, making it easier to connect the market supply of skills with employer demand.”
