Six New Locations for Indeed

February 18, 2010 by Alice Allan

The Indeed job search engine now has a presence in 25 countries after Argentina, Chile, Columbia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa were added this week.

According to an Indeed blog post, the search engine now provides over 1 billion job searches to over 30 million unique users worldwide. That is up from Indeed’s November estimate of 24 million unique users. The most recent comScore figures quoted by the search engine put it in the number one spot amongst US-based employment websites.

Indeed’s main competitor is the Simply Hired job search engine, which currently covers 17 countries. At the moment, there are no countries covered by Simply Hired where Indeed does not also have a presence. Simply Hired is not available in any of the six new locations added by Indeed, in Austria, or in Korea.

Great, those countries might add 100 new visitors per month. Very impressive! Does anyone else feel the overriding urge to yawn when speaking of indeed.com?
