Locanto Adds Ten Countries
February 3, 2010 by Alice Allan

Classifieds website Locanto has expanded to cover 10 new countries: Jamaica, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, El Salvador, and Panama.
Locanto, which lists jobs as well as real estate and items for sale, now offers local versions for a total of 38 locations. Its listings are free, and the website creates revenue by displaying Google Ads on its search results pages.
Locanto is run by German start-up Yalwa, which also runs a business directory network.
“We are expanding Locanto in new countries to meet the growing demand of our users in these young and dynamic markets,” says Klaus Gapp, CEO and founder of Yalwa. “Our international team with its cultural and professional diversity is well equipped to accommodate our new communities.”
A mobile version of the US locanto.com website was launched in mid-January.
