US-based elite jobs website doostang.com has raised US$1.25 million in an expected $2.1 million round of equity, according to a filing with the SEC.
venturebeat.com reports that Shasta Ventures provided this round of funding, which brings the total capital raised for the website to $5.25 million since it was first established in 2005.
doostang.com now claims 600,000 elite professionals – one in four graduates from the top 30 US universities – have joined up.
Websites operating in the same field include ivyexec.com, which says it has just over 31,000 members, and theladders.com, which says it can reach over 2 million qualified candidates.
doostang.com currently offers various membership packages ranging from free basic access to $29.95 for one month premium access.
For employers, doostang.com offers free job posting, however there are subscription fees to access its candidate search and messaging services.
