Simply Hired Socialises Results
January 20, 2010 by Alice Allan
In our recent interview, Simply Hired director of international Sachin Shah told jobsportalwatch.com we could expect to see a focus on partnerships for the company in 2010. The jobs search engine certainly hasn’t wasted any time on this, announcing collaborations with some big names in online social networking over the past few days.
The first collaboration is Simply Hired’s new LinkedIn mashup, which is an extension of the search engine’s “Who Do I Know” tool. This tool allows users to connect to LinkedIn from a Simply Hired job listing to find out if they have a contact within the organisation. Now, those contacts have been brought to Simply Hired’s search results pages, so that any company connections are visible alongside job listings.
Simply Hired has also introduced a new “share” feature under each search result, which allows job seekers to post job openings to Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, and to forward them via email. The video below shows these new options in action:
Along with these new social features, Simply Hired has announced another partnership with US company LearningExpress LLC to enhance LearningExpress’s Job & Career Accelerator tool.
Job & Career Accelerator is an online application that guides users through each step of the job search process, from finding positions to preparing resumes and cover letters. The application is free in US public libraries and available to students at colleges and university career centres. Through the new partnership, Simply Hired’s job listings and occupation profiles will be accessible through Job & Career Accelerator.
“During these hard economic times, LearningExpress is providing a great online resource for finding employment,” said Gautam Godhwani, co-founder and CEO of Simply Hired. “Through this partnership, employers will be able to cast a wide net for candidates including skilled workers, ageing workers and recent grads who are turning to libraries and career centres for guidance.”
Topping off a busy couple of days, Simply Hired has added another filter to the “job type” menu in its search results, allowing users to filter for telecommute positions.
