LinkedIn’s Makeover for iPhone
January 5, 2010 by Alice Allan
Professional social network LinkedIn ended a busy year with a treat for iPhone users: the release of LinkedIn for iPhone version 3.0.
LinkedIn explains the new version offers a reworked menu page, a new search interface, a new “favourites” function, new ways to view and respond to updates, and new functions in the inbox. LinkedIn has also added the ability to share contact information by holding iPhones close together.
It seems likely the updated application will bring yet more members to LinkedIn’s 55 million-strong network, with largely positive responses posted on mashable.com and techcrunch.com.
The Wall Street Journal recently spoke to LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner, who said last year’s move to open LinkedIn to third-party developers allows for the creation of applications that should also draw more users to the network.
