jobsite.co.uk Ad Push Begins
January 6, 2010 by Alice Allan
UK jobs portal jobsite.co.uk has started its January advertising push, which involves a month of TV advertising along with Video on Demand and mobile campaigns.
The TV ads star actor Max Beesley and are the same as those seen on UK TV last year. The first ad screened during the central ad break of the second episode of Coronation Street on Monday night, which jobsite.co.uk says would have had an audience of around 10 million people.
jobsite.co.uk explains that through Video on Demand, their ads will be seen by people viewing selected content online at websites such as C4 OD, ITV.com, Five OD, film.com and telegraph.co.uk.
A 15 second version of the jobsite.co.uk ad will also appear prior to requested news and sports reports on mobile websites such as Sky and ITN, and on the news services of UK phone operators including Orange and 3. This mobile activity will run until the end of February 2010, which jobsite.co.uk says will ensure their ad is shown more than 2 million times.
Behaviourally targeted online advertising is another part of jobsite.co.uk’s strategy. This involves visitors to jobsite.co.uk being shown personalised job adverts as they browse other websites and when they look at videos on YouTube. Paid online display advertising will also be run throughout January and February.
“January has always been one of the busiest times for job hunting, but given the recession many are nervous about moving jobs,” says jobsite.co.uk managing director Keith Potts. “Our ads are looking to reassure these people that there are still plenty of opportunities available. We’re also talking to those people who are reluctant to move jobs as they see the whole process as time consuming and difficult.”
