US company Career Brander says job seekers spend too much time searching on job portals, and is promoting its “Job Search Radar” service as an alternative.

Career Brander claims its Job Search Radar product gives users access to over 20 million corporate profiles that are mined for “hidden job opportunities”. The company promises subscribers positions sourced from job boards and corporate websites, along with access to a database of over 20,000 recruiters and managerial contacts that are automatically cross-referenced with users’ social networks.

Career Brander’s contention is that 85 percent of positions are not filled through listings on job boards. “The unemployed are spending too much time on job boards. Especially given that job boards only fill five to 15 percent of all positions,” says founder Ian Levine. “Job seekers are looking to maximize their time management and find better ways to secure career opportunities faster.”

Job Search Radar costs US$295 for a six month subscription, or $395 for 12 months.
