US vertical job search engine Simply Hired has added Japan to the list of countries it covers with sister website simplyhired.jp.

simplyhired.jp is a Japanese language version of the search engine promoting the same simple job search by title and location. simplyhired.com says simplyhired.jp has launched with over 200,000 job postings and goes on to explain that its international partnership with LinkedIn will allow Japanese job seekers to find any connections they have within companies.

Simply Hired’s international director, Sachin Shah, put the new search engine in context:

“Japan’s unemployment rate reached a six-year high of 3.61 million in August, leaving an unprecedented number of job seekers looking for work. With the launch of simplyhired.jp, Simply Hired continues our ongoing mission to provide localised, language-specific job search for every major region in the world—providing as many people as possible with an opportunity to find their ideal job.”

This launch comes after Simply Hired received US$4.6 million in funding from IDG Ventures and Foundation Capital in August. simplyhired.jp brings the total number of countries covered by the search engine to 15.

Simply Hired does not charge companies to add their job feeds to its search engine, but it does offer a pay-per-click model for sponsored listings. Simply Hired states it has so far indexed more than 5 million jobs worldwide.
