A new Australian website has just been launched with the aim of making hiring through referrals easier and more transparent.

jobgenie.com.au was created by referral recruiting technology and recruitment consulting business company Peerlo. The web-based service allows companies to request candidate referrals from their contacts via email and share these requests on social networks such as Facebook and LinkedIn.

jobgeniue.com.au also lets users monitor rewards, due payments, time to hire and cost of hire, and to ensure referrers and their contacts are kept informed about the recruitment process.

In a press release, executive recruiter and entrepreneur Riges Younan explained the need for the website:

“Most companies run their referral program in an ad-hoc way, with inconsistent communications, unstructured processes and systems that don’t give visibility of the rewards.

Most of the companies we have spoken to manage their employee referral programs via emails or on spreadsheets, the problem with this is there is no referral tracking, no rewards tracking and no notifications of due payments to the person paying referral rewards.

The lack of feedback or information communicated to employees on their referrals is often the main reason why they are reluctant to refer jobs their contacts.”

jobgeniue.com.au currently offers a free version of its service as well as a paid premium version.
