After a number of weeks building suspense, human resources focused social networking website hrmtoday.com has finally revealed the identity of the company that won it on eBay for US$4,075 in mid-August.

The Institute for Corporate Productivity, or i4cp, has just posted on the hrmtoday.com blog, explaining their decision to buy the website:

“There are so many good HR blogs out there and plenty more people who want to talk about the topics that can take human resources to the next level. At the same time, even with this little thing called Google (I just found out about it the other day. It’s great), it’s difficult to find all of the gems – and, when you have, to keep track of all the great content being produced.

That’s why the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp) has taken on the responsibilities of hrmtoday.com. We want companies to succeed, and we know that to do so they have to have a strategically focused, high-performing workforce.”

i4cp describes itself as “the world’s largest vendor-free network of corporations focused on improving workforce productivity”. The company aims to use research, networking and tools to assist companies cut expenses and increase revenue. i4cp acquired the 40 year old Human Resources Institute in 2007, and its members include companies such as Shell Oil, Ford, Xerox and McDonald’s.
