employme.com Switches to Free Model
September 29, 2009 by Alice Allan

UK part-time and temporary job board employme.com is set to relaunch on 1 October with a free-to-list model.
According to employme.com, its previous business model allowed employers to browse its candidate database free of charge, however they were then required to pay a fee to contact candidates. One month advertisements cost £50. The website now states that employers can post jobs and search for and contact candidates free of charge.
employme.com managing director Gary Burnett told recruitmenttoday.net that cost cuts in marketing and advertising budgets are causing companies to miss out on finding the right applicant – a cycle he said employme.com’s new business model will break.
“As unemployment figures steadily rise, more people are seizing the opportunity to try something completely different,” said Burnett. “ employme.com is a necessary solution, as it caters to those looking for something that’s short term, until they find their feet. It also allows part-time workers to perhaps explore the prospect of getting back to further education to train for a new career.”
