HotJobs Sales Exec Moves to jobthread.com
August 27, 2009 by Alice Allan

US based job advertising provider jobthread.com has a new vice president of sales – Rod Garcia, a former senior sales executive at Yahoo! HotJobs.
Garcia’s profile at recruitingblogs.com states that the move will allow him to “pursue my dreams of being able to assist in a successful start-up”. A jobthread.com statement also quotes Garcia as saying:
“Based on my experience working with recruiters and employers, I believe that jobthread.com is the right model to meet their challenges head-on. Our targeted approach is proven to deliver qualified candidates based on specific criteria, which is something this industry has needed for a long time. I am very excited to bring the jobthread.com model to the market.”
jobthread.com, which was launched in 2006, explains that its aim is to attract the attention of passive job seekers by placing job advertisements in front of niche audiences on websites such as paidcontent.org, computerworld.com and wired.com. The website charges employers 49 cents each time their advertisement is viewed by a qualified job seeker.
Garcia’s move comes after news that new Yahoo! CEO Carol Bartz’s is looking to dismantle the company’s non-core assets, adding fuel to the rumours that HotJobs may soon be sold.
