Elite Job Websites Gaining Ground

Two US based job websites that promise access to elite job opportunities are reporting progress in terms of partnerships and funding.
doostang.com, which was founded in 2005 and claims to have over half a million members, has recently partnered with 85 Broads – a career focused network for women. The partnership allows 85 Broads members to have access to doostang.com at a reduced rate. doostang.com currently offers various membership packages ranging from free basic access to US$40 for one month premium access.
For employers, doostang.com offers free job posting, however there are subscription fees to access its candidate search and messaging services. The website states that over 80 percent of its members are passive job seekers, and that one in four recent graduates from top US universities are signed up.
ivyexec.com was launched in 2006, and is similar to doostang.com in that it positions itself as a network for “elite professionals” – those job seekers who “never trusted an online job board before”. ivyexec.com also offers free and paid membership options for job seekers, however members must submit their resume for approval before they are able to join. ivyexec.com claims its employer members can access 25,850 “high calibre professionals”, 95 percent of whom have a graduate degree.
In an interview with cheezhead.com, ivyexec.com CEO Elena Bajic said the website cuts down employers’ hiring costs as companies only receive an average of between 20 and 25 applications per job posting. Bajic put the website’s projected revenue at $315,000 for the year, and said ivyexec.com is in its way to reaching its goal of raising $1.5 million in funding.
ivyexec.com was also recently featured on inc.com, where Bajic explained: “Unlike other career sites, we screen each of our applicants as well as all companies and job postings. As a result, we offer a level of quality and security that’s not found on sites like Monster, where anyone can post or search jobs or resumes.”
