Following on from the launch of lifestylecareers.com.au, two more job websites have recently appeared aimed at Australian job seekers.

The first, myjobwizard.com.au, describes itself as an employment support service and offers job seekers interview training, help with resumes and cover letters, and says it will soon provide candidate profiling. The website is aimed at international students and says it has connections with casual employers such as 7 Eleven and IKEA.

Founder and director Samuel Johns explained the motivation behind the website in an interview with The Age newspaper:

“A lot of students we’ve spoken to didn’t understand their requirements to gain employment and how many hours they could do and what opportunities were available to them while studying. The employers that we’ve spoken to told us that the resumes and information the international students were providing wasn’t in the correct manner or giving employers the right information so they could move through the recruitment process.”

Meanwhile, media and marketing website mumbrella.com.au has also updated with a free-to-list job board, displaying positions in the media, advertising and marketing sectors for 14 days.

Sean McKeown, mumbrella.com.au’s sales director, discussed the launch of the new section:

“We’re aware that budgets are tight, and if Mumbrella Jobs makes it slightly easier to put people in jobs, then we’re glad to help. We’ve created an initial list of job categories, and if you feel we are missing something, let us know and we’ll be happy to add it.”
