oodle.com Begins to Tweet
July 13, 2009 by Alice Allan

Classifieds website oodle.com has begun integrating with Twitter, utilising the social media tool in a few different ways.
oodle.com provides free and paid classified listings for jobs as well as real estate, cars, pets and many other items. After asking users for their ideas on how best to make use of Twitter, oodle.com has just announced phase one of the integration process.
oodle.com users can now automatically share their listings with their Twitter followers – a function that was already available for oodle.com users on Facebook and MySpace. The website is also collecting all its listings into a single Twitter stream. In an interview with aimgroup.com, oodle.com CEO Craig Donato explained this move:
“We don’t expect anyone to actually follow that account. But there are an increasing number of third party Twitter apps that allow you to search your Twitter stream. So if someone looks for an apartment or roommate in Dallas, the app will only show the relevant listings.”
Donato also revealed that another Twitter function will be released in the near future that will let users ask a question to their followers about a particular listing while they are viewing it. paidcontent.org quotes Donato as saying:
“When someone sees a job listing, for example, we want them to be able to ask a friend on MySpace if they’ve worked there. If there’s a used car they’re looking at, they can get an instant reaction from their Twitter stream about other drivers’ experiences. We know these conversations are happening offline—we want to facilitate people having them online.”
