US based career website notchup.com is about to upgrade, according to an interview with cheezhead.com. The article quotes co-founder Jim Ambras as saying: “We’re working on our third iteration of the product, due out in the fall.”

notchup.com’s last update took place in June 2008, when the website integrated with Facebook and OpenSocial, and introduced personal identification numbers for users.

cheezhead.com points out a decline in the number of visitors to the website since early in 2008, according to figures from compete.com.

notchup.com works by paying employees to be interviewed. As Ambras explained to cheezhead.com, “The company was started as a way for start-ups in The Valley to be able to interview engineers at Google, for example, who normally wouldn’t give a new guy the time of day”.

The website allows employees to calculate their interview fee, import their details from LinkedIn, and be found by potential employers while remaining invisible to their current employer. For employers, notchup.com can undertake background checks, provide statistics and feedback on candidates from previous interviews, and offer a money back guarantee on all interviews.
