kontacs.com on Free-to-List Mission
July 22, 2009 by Alice Allan

kontacs.com is a new free-to-list website that has been launched with “a social mission to connect job seekers and employers”.
The US based website states that its free listings will be distributed to locations such as Indeed, SimplyHired, Jobster, MySpace Jobs, Lycos Classifieds and BusinessWeek, exposing them to over 20 million job seekers.
Website founder and CEO Gary Dhaliwal says he created kontacs.com in response to the large number of layoffs he saw happening around him. Dhaliwal explains:
“By making the service free and easy to use for both sides, posting fees would no longer be an issue for small business owners or recruiters for larger companies. In the current economic climate it is essential that an individual who is out of work have ways to place their resume for free in front of as many prospective employers as possible.”
Job seekers can create a profile and post their resumes for free on kontacs.com, as well as search for jobs through the website. The kontacs.com Twitter channel is close to having 1,000 followers.
Other recently created free-to-list job websites include jobshouts.com and unitedwework.org, however this website has stated it will switch to paid listings for larger employers at the end of the year.
