jobtitled.com Offers Career Analytics
July 31, 2009 by Alice Allan

jobtitled.com has just been launched with the aim of “helping everyone make better career decisions through the use of analytics”.
The free website, now released in public beta, works by taking resumes, CVs and job histories and adding these to a database – the website claims to have “millions” in its collection. Using this data, jobtitled.com creates “an interconnected network of jobs” to show information and statistics related to career movement.
Users are first invited to search by job title or degree. A job title search brings up a summary of the job along with the average time people spend in that position, graphs outlining which jobs people held before they took the job and after they moved on, and graphs showing the level of education and types of degree used to get the job.
Similar information is displayed through a search by degree. Users can also browse the website by job title, compare job titles, and view possible career trajectories once they have joined and entered their job and education history.
Since the website went live on July 19, its creator has begun explaining the numbers jobtitled.com generates in a series of blog posts.
