feetrader.com describes itself as a “free split-fee network for agency recruiters”. The website, which went live at the beginning of June, says it is “striving to become the most widely used perm/direct-hire split-fee network in the world”.

feetrader.com does not charge registration or brokerage fees, and says it subsidises its service through advertising. A statement on the website explains its business model further:

“Unlike other split-fee networks, feetrader.com does not take any part of the fees generated. As a result, we do not require recruiters to manage their relationships and activity through our site. Job posting recruiters remain anonymous until responding to a ‘split-fee’ request from a recruitment side member. From there, recruiters are able to manage their own relationships and recruiting process.”

Users begin by conducting a search and then send an email to their potential partner recruiter with details of their candidate. feetrader.com provides a standard contract for partner recruiters to use if they wish.

The website is encouraging recruiters to refer others to their website, and states: “As our user community grows, to further assist in site enhancements, freetrader.com will also be adding optional, upgradable services and features that will be fee-based.”
