Virtual Job Interview Website Launches
June 22, 2009 by Alice Allan

A new website has been launched with the aim of providing a platform for job seekers to continuously market themselves to employers in a virtual setting. ivinow.com (Ismari Virtual Interviews) states that its virtual job interview service will make the hiring process “convenient, cost-effective and earth friendly”.
bizjournals.com reports that the website was launched on 9 June and quotes co-owner Julie Ismari-Crawford as saying: “The employer can now search, screen and hire potential candidates directly from their computer. It’s a way to continuously market yourself to many potential employers.”
The website charges interviewees US$10 to upload a video interview they have recorded on their own, or $25 to have ivinow.com record and upload one for them. Employers then pay $20 to download a single video interview, or subscribe for six or 12 months.
ivinow.com maintains that “Online interviews eliminate the need for paper resumes, applications, snail mail, and travel expenses”. However, it seems the interview process may not be entirely virtual. Ismari Virtual Interview’s notice on Craigslist also states: “When your video recording is chosen, the employer will contact you to schedule a Face-to-Face interview”.
