A Twitter application has been released that allows members to post 140 character job advertisements or resumes: twtjobs.com.

twtjobs.com was created by Montréal resident Felipe Coimbra, who has released a number of similar Twitter applications related to various topics under the name twtapps. The idea behind twtjobs.com is that, once posted, job advertisements and resumes will be shared throughout the Twitter network. Posts can also be added to Facebook and other social networking websites.

Coimbra told readwriteweb.com that increased search capabilities will soon be added to twtjobs.com, and that the application could “help people, and businesses in particular, to engage with their followers and community by asking them to participate in their hiring process”.

twtapps currently relies on donations as each of its applications are free and do not contain advertisements.

It seems job alerts through Twitter are gaining popularity, with US jobs classifieds giant careerbuilder.com introducing its own Twitter based job alerts last week.
