hashjobs.com Aggregates Openings for Free
May 31, 2009 by Alice Allan

hashjobs.com is described by its developer as “a teeny tiny little experiment pitched at the intersection of twitter and job hunting in a bad economy”. Put simply, it aggregates posts to Twitter that contain the tag #jobs.
A search for #jobs on Twitter brings up any job posts that include this tag posted by recruiters, companies or job boards.
hashjobs.com owner Jason Davis is also the co-founder of splits.org, a tool that third party recruiters who work together can use to find a job and a candidate separately, then split the fee.
Davis told cheezehead.com: “This should scare the hell out of sites like Monster and Indeed. It’s a channel for job seekers to go for openings, and it’s all free.”
While monster.com has a Twitter account, it currently hosts discussions rather than job listings, and indeed.com’s account is similar.
However, leading US jobs portal careerbuilder.com does use Twitter to post job alerts to its users. US based jobcircle.com is another example of a job board that is using the micro-blogging website, in its case by setting up branded corporate channels to assist companies in recruiting through Twitter.
