bayt.com Upgrades Search Capabilities

Middle East based jobs portal bayt.com has announced that its search capabilities have been upgraded. The website claims its job search is now 40 percent faster, and its keyword search can now handle symbols (such as C++) and abbreviations (such as IT and HR).

In a statement from the website, Bayt.com’s chief technology officer, Akram Assaf, commented on the current employment market in the Middle East:

“Amidst the current economic downturn in the region, Middle East employment markets are in a state of flux. What we are seeing is that many professionals who were settled and secure in their jobs until very recently, are finding themselves in a position where they now need to find new work.”

bayt.com lists job vacancies in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, KSA, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and North Africa. The website states it serves over 30,000 employers and 2.75 million registered job seekers.

bayt.com recently hosted a virtual jobs fair, which it says saw more than 14,000 unique visitors to the website over a five day period.
