New Green Jobs Website
April 27, 2009 by Emma Sorensen

The Obama administration is not the only one focusing on green job creation. A timely new US job website, greatgreencareers.com, aims to connect employers and job seekers in the green jobs industries.
The green jobs market includes positions in energy (wind, solar, geothermal, tidal, biomass, and others), environment (ecology, health and safety, parks, abatement, and others), skilled trades (heating and cooling, electrical, plumbing, building automation), and transportation.
The website officially launched on Earth Day (22 April) and lists positions across these fields ranging from entry level to senior management.
Great Green Careers is a service provided by Ogden Publications, Inc., the publisher of Mother Earth News, Utne Reader, Natural Home, and other books and magazines for people interested in self-sufficiency, sustainability and rural lifestyles.
A press release from the company says more than one-third of Ogden’s sustainable-lifestyle audience are currently employed in green occupations.
“We’ve embraced green jobs and technology since 1970, when Mother Earth News launched. Great Green Careers is a natural progression of services we can provide to our readers and to a new group of people who are now interested in the green job sector,” said Bryan Welch, publisher and editorial director.
Job seekers can view open positions, post their resumes and apply for specific listings on Great Green Careers, all at no charge.
Companies who post jobs on the site can search the resume database, giving them unique access to a concentrated pool of people who are interested in specific areas of the green job sector.
